Can I take allergy medications? Use of pseudoephedrine such as found in Sudafed, Contac, Claritin D and other nasal decongestants have been shown to reduce milk supply after a single dose by 24% in some women (Dr. Tom Hale, Medications and Mother’s Milk, 2012 15th edition). Some women report antihistamines have caused a reduction in milk supply as well, further research is needed.
