The Northwoods Preparedness Collaborative is located within the Marathon County Health Department and serves as the Collaborative’s fiscal agent. Nine local public health agencies established the Northwoods Preparedness Collaborative August 1, 2011. The Collaborative is funded by member agency contributions from a federal public health preparedness grant.
Former members of the Northwoods Public Health Preparedness Consortium started the Northwoods Preparedness Collaborative (NPC) after the state Division of Public Health stopped funding local public health preparedness consortia. NPC member agencies founded the new partnership to continue collaborating on issues related to emergency response and preparedness and sharing expertise and resources.
