Announcement: 11/20/13 Tom Lovlien, Marathon County Forest Administrator for the Wausau and Marathon County Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, is recommending that everyone wear blaze orange clothing while in any of the County Forest Units during the firearms deer seasons which run from November 23, 2013, through December 15, 2013.
Also, the Burma ATV trails will remain closed during the month of November to ATV traffic due to the fall hunting seasons. These trails will open back up to ATVs on December 1, 2013.

Marathon County has nine forest units totaling 29,853 acres. The units have diverse features available to the public including mixed uplands, marshes, water impoundments and wildlife openings for a variety of activities. A county overview map of the forest units can be found below:
