The 3,000-acre Ringle Marsh Unit is located south of Hwy. 29, between Weston and the Village of Ringle.  There are several parking areas including: Sportsman Road, Timber Ridge, Big Wound Road and Dallman Road with access to this unit.  

 

The recent acquisition of over 1,000 acres from the Wausau-Mosinee Paper Company expanded this forest unit on both the north and south end, and provided an additional parking area to access the forest.

 

The area is fairly wet, consequently there are few designated hiking trails and no bike or horse trails.  The snowmobile trail does intersect this unit.

 

The forest is a mixture of oak/hardwoods and aspen and a few pine/spruce plantations.  This unit receives substantial hunting pressure in the fall due to the close proximity to the greater Wausau area.
