The following trails will open for the 2019 riding season at 8am, Friday, May 17, 2019:

  • Burma Forest ATV/UTV trails
  • Nine Mile County Forest mountain bike and horse trails
  • Kronenwetter and Leather Camp County Forest horse trails
  • Big Eau Pleine County Park mountain bike and horse trails
  • Big Eau Pleine County Park disc golf course

The Burma County Forest Unit ATV and UTV trails will be open between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. each day through September 30, 2019. Motorcycles and dirt bikes are prohibited on the Burma trails. Please stay on designated ATV/UTV trails or this area may close.

Some mountain bike trail sections at Nine Mile County Forest and Big Eau Pleine Park may be barricaded or marked closed until further notice due to continued wet or soft trail conditions.

Be aware the spring turkey season is open through Tuesday, May 28. Officials recommend riders wear blaze orange clothing whenever in or adjacent to County Forests.

The Sylvan Hill Mountain Bike Trails will remain CLOSED due continued wet conditions.

*** Family Definition:  One or two adults and their children (Children are persons age 18 and under).

There is a self-registration station at the begining of the course.  Complete form and pay the appropriate fee.  Daily pass entitles you to play the course as often as you like that day.  Annual passes will be mailed by the Park Administrative Office upon receipt of the $30 fee.  Be sure to print clearly so that the pass can be mailed to you.

Big Eau Pleine Park, the largest County Park in our park system is home to an 18 hole, 6,750 foot course that offers a mix of open and wooded holes.  The course is located in the west unit of the park, adjacent to the family campground.  Once in the west unit of the park, take the first left which is located just past the entrance to the family campground and look for the information kiosk on the left.  An initial practice hole is located on the north side of the kiosk which then leads you to the first hole.  Enjoy a relaxing round of disc golf and you stand a fair chance of spotting some wildlife along the way.

Memorial Park Disc Golf Course: 
This course is open for 2019 use. This short, open course provides a beautiful view of Lake Wausau throughout it's nine holes, with water obstacles challenging players on 4 holes.  For a hole by hole course descriptioin click here.

There is no charge to play disc golf at Memorial Park.
