SHERIFF, Randy Hoenisch, is the chief law enforcement officer in the county. The department takes charge and custody of the jail and persons therein, and keeps records of all prisoners committed, charged and/or convicted of any arrests. The department must enforce all federal and state laws and county ordinances pertaining to traffic and crimes. Emergency government operations are also handled through the department, coordinating the establishment of emergency plans for natural and man-made disasters and facilitates disaster recovery operations.
