Welcome to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office
The Sheriff’s Office consists of more than 200 employees working in five different Divisions: Administration; Communications; Corrections; Investigations; and Patrol. Marathon County is geographically the largest County in the State of Wisconsin. A combination of urban and rural environments provides unique challenges.
Our location of being in the center of the State with two major highways, Interstate 39 and STH 29 crossing it provides easy access from any direction. This is wonderful for our business, commerce, and tourism efforts and this area has much to offer.
The Marathon County Alert Program allows citizens to receive critical information in an emergency situation. When a natural disaster, police activity or other emergency requires you to take action to protect yourself and your family, you'll receive texts, emails, or phone calls that let you know what to do.
