On-Line Alarm Permit Application & Key Holder Update Form

The County of Marathon has an established alarm permit process (County Ordinance 12.0) to ensure all residential and commercial alarm systems are registered with the County. This system provides the Sheriff’s Office with up-to-date, accurate information about the responsible party, alarm company and any key holder(s) and helps reduce the number of false/non-bona fide alarm responses by our officers.

The Sheriff’s Office requires this information to have a better understanding of the number of alarms within the County and have appropriate information available for resolution of alarm-related issues. Marathon County requires all residents and businesses located within the county to register their alarms and obtain a permit annually with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office. Failure to register could result in a citation being issued to the home or business owner.
Once your on-line application and yearly fee is received, your alarm will be registered for the year. You are required to complete this on-line application every year to ensure the Sheriff’s Office has access to current information via its computerized dispatch and records software system.
