Click HERE for a County Map illustrating the locations of the projects.
During construction the roads will be posted with signs reading &amp;quot;ROAD&amp;nbsp;CLOSED - LOCAL&amp;nbsp;TRAFFIC&amp;nbsp;ONLY&amp;quot;.&amp;nbsp; Crews will work to maintain access to businesses and residents at all times from both ends of the project.&amp;nbsp; Drivers&amp;nbsp;should expect the roads to be rough at times and they should also anticipate delays as crews will often reduce the roadway to one lane with flaggers controlling traffic.
As access will be provided during construction, a detour route will not be posted.&amp;nbsp; Please use alternate routes if possible during construction.
&amp;nbsp;
All dates are estimated and&amp;nbsp;subject to change based on weather, equipment and other possible construction delays.
Thanks for your patience during construction.

    <title>Broadband Demand Survey</title>
    <link>http://www.co.marathon.wi.us/Home/Announcements/tabid/66/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/331/Broadband-Demand-Survey.aspx</link>
    <description>The Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC-W) has launched an effort to map broadband availability in Wisconsin. Those maps are currently available on the LinkWisconsin web site &amp;nbsp;http://wi.linkamericadata.org/
While these interactive maps are a huge improvement over the data we had available the last few years, they really don&amp;rsquo;t inform the most important question: Are businesses and residents getting the level of connectivity they need at affordable prices?
The&amp;nbsp;PSC-W&amp;nbsp;has launched statewide broadband demand surveys for residents and businesses that get at the heart of this question. People may not necessarily know what speeds they are getting or even how much they are paying for their internet service, but they do know whether or not their broadband options are meeting their needs. You can find the online surveys at http://wisconsindashboard.org/node/405
The data is then mapped and will clearly indicate where the market is being met and where we have pockets of under-served and un-served residents and businesses. This data will also be shared with broadband providers in the area.
The deadline for this survey is July, 2013. Please consider filling out the survey for your own residence or business, and encouraging others so we can identify the gaps.
*If you know someone with interest in the survey and no access to internet, please share the print surveys with them (available at the links below). They can return the surveys to

    <description>Dale Grosskurth, Director of Environmental Health &amp;amp; Safety with Marathon County Health Department was the recipient of the 2012 Environmental Health Professional of the Year on April 26, 2012. The recipient is someone who is seen as an exemplary role model for public health professionals and has contributed much to the current status of environmental health in Wisconsin. This is the highest honor an environmental sanitarian can receive in their professional career. A few words for why Dale;
Dale has worked collaboratively at a local, regional and state level to advance environmental health programs and policies that impact our communities. He understands and values the need to listen and understand varying opinions and positions on a given issue, seeking “win-win” solutions whenever feasible. Dale has served as chair for the WALHDB-EH from January 2008 to May 2011. Serving in a leadership role at a state level, Dale was able to strengthen the working relationship between the DATCP, DHS and agent health departments. During his tenure, a Temporary Food Committee was formed to address licensing and inspection conflicts in State statute and administrative codes. In looking to the future, WALHDAB-EH added a term limit to the role of Chair, putting in place a vice-chair thereby expanding leadership opportunities for members.
In 2010-11, Dale was able to contribute to the recommendations generated by the statewide Raw Milk Workgroup, articulating safeguards that would need to be met for any proposed legislation on permitting the sale of unpasteurized milk in Wisconsin. Locally, regionally and at state level, Dale is valued for his integrity – being able to bridge differences among varied stakeholders, ultimately resulting in everyone working to achieve our common goal, that is, to create healthy communities.
