UPDATE: County Road NN was opened to traffic on June 8, 2017 with a gravel surface. The gravel will remain in place until early July. Leaving the roadway with a gravel surface allows traffic and moisture to help with any settlement that may occur. Final paving and shoulder work is scheduled for early July. The roadway will remain open to traffic, but reduced to a single lane with flaggers during the final stages of work. Thanks for your patience during construction.
ORIGINAL PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT IS BELOW:
County Road NN between Marathon and Rib Mountain remains closed due to a culvert failure at Kennedy Creek.
The manufacturing of a replacement structure and arrangements for relocating utility facilities is currently ongoing. This phase of the work is expected to be completed the week of May 15th.
Excavation equipment is planned to be mobilized to the site the week of May 15th with excavation work beginning May 22nd.
Crews will excavate the roadway, remove the existing metal culvert and install a new concrete box culvert.
The work is highly weather dependant; the schedule anticipates opening the roadway by the end of June.
A detour route using County Roads O, N and R will remain in place during construction.
