Fred Goch started with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office on June 19, 1989. Fred is from Marshfield and speaks several different languages, which was beneficial when working with some areas of Marathon County. Fred worked as a Deputy Sheriff and was later promoted to Lieutenant in our Patrol Division. Fred was a member of our SWAT Team and our Bomb Team. In fact, Fred is one of those persons at the Sheriff’s Office, who I worked with as a peer and at one point was supervised by Fred.

Fred is one of those people you can always count on and who would be willing to give you the shirt off his back. Fred represented us extremely well becoming an expert in advice to area landlords on evictions and other issues and advice to separated parents conducting child exchanges after visits. Fred’s personality reduced tensions, caused people to relax and was effective in accomplishing the job. Fred is one of kind and will be difficult to replace.

Fred is a huge fan of Harley Davidson motorcycles. Congratulations Fred on 29 years of service to law enforcement and enjoy your retirement. Hang up the uniform, turn a wrench or two on the bike and get out to ride every day you can! Thank you Fred!
