The Marathon County Parks and Forestry Department is asking interested persons to apply for membership on the Citizen Advisory Sub-Committee for County forests. Applications are available at the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, 212 River Drive, Suite 2, Wausau, WI 54403, 715-261-1550. The deadline for applications is October 19, 2018.
Committee members, appointed for two year terms, address County forest recreation development and management issues including cross country skiing, mountain biking, hunting, horseback riding, ATV and snowmobiles, special events, wildlife management, and sustainable forestry. The committee acts as a focus group on specific issues and makes recommendations to the Forestry/Recreation Committee.
The eleven member Citizen Advisory Sub-Committee currently has one vacancy, the Equestrian category. The sub-committee meets four times a year on weekday evenings.
